Freeform text entry per metric, per day

To explain a bit about why you chose that particular value. It could be displayed along-side metrics… kind of like Twitter

So many great ideas mentioned here, but especially the original post! Even very brief text notes, even one per day, would certainly help.

I think it wood be good, if you see this, when you scroll about the point on the graph…

But good idea! ;)

@shkkmo What does ‘beta’ mean anyhow? :D .. Gmail is still in beta.

@Kevin .. I like the idea. Used a similar tool to lifemetric that allowed that. Used it to just down dreams and thoughts as well.

You write “kind of like Twitter” .. why not go towards integration with Twitter, Pownce, Jaiku so that the user can chose where to post the message. A short hand state of the metric of the date could go along with the message.

interesting, but seems like a low relative priority in a beta

I like it. I want to grow the metric pages (e.g., Mood) to be more than just a graph, but almost a community about that particular metric. This would be the perfect place for aggregating all those entries for particular metrics entries.

For example, I’d imagine someone rating their “Love” metric a 3, with an entry about breaking up or something, then that entry appearing on http://lifemetric.com/metrics/4-Love where a further discussion could take place.

How about the option to allow users to comment on this text entry? Perhaps your moods have been on the ‘negative’ side and you make a comment expressing that you’ve just broken up with your long term girlfriend (which then justifies the values). Then if I saw your metrics, and your reasoning, I could always comment letting you know I’ve been through similar experiences and you should try doing X, Y, and Z. Follow?
